In the summer of 2007, I was out in my yard, as I walked pass the wheelbarrow I saw a peculiar site. My husband uses the wheelbarrow in the winter to haul ashes from our wood burning stove; there is nothing in it but ashes. Imagine my shock when growing in the wheelbarrow was a stock of corn growing; it even had a miniature ear of corn.
In my busyness, I was tempted to go on about my way but the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart go, get the camera and take a picture. I am not a person who takes many pictures so it was an unusual request. I took several pictures impressed that this was a significant spiritual event.
As I inquired of God regarding the corn growing out of the ashes, I heard the Lord say, "Those things you thought were dead, I can bring to life. Give me those ashes and I will create more than you can ever dream or imagine." I am certain that those words from God were not only for me but also for a generation who would receive the revelation.
What is it that is dead in your life? Where are those ashes of God-given dreams and destinies? Did you desire to write songs of praise or maybe care for the unwanted? Is there a message you must preach or a country that burns in your heart? Give them to God, trust Him and like the ear of corn that grew out of the ashes so will your dream. God will give you more than you can imagine or dream.
